Height: 5'5"
Weight: 131 lbs
Appearance: What does your character look like? What does their usual attire look like?
Personality: Koga is...... well, she's a handful. Besides her "unique" manner of speech and overall jovial demeanor, this clown of clowns has been dedicated to making every day a whirlwind of merriment and silliness since she donned her very first set of bells. Of course, even a layperson could probably tell she's not playing with a full deck.
History: As the daughter of two performers in a traveling circus, Koga fell in love with the show at a very young age. Clowning came very naturally to her — she had a knack for the absurd, had zero hesitations about making herself look foolish, and her showmanship wasn't all bad, either. Life on the road was hard, though, especially for a child.
Wake up, eat rations, get dressed for the morning show, perform for two hours, pack everything up and be on the road. Then, do it all over again for the night show. If the take was good, she even got dinner. Of course, the circus didn't have the means nor the funds to put the entire troupe in any decent lodging, so they slept in camps behind the big top. Even returning home, the performers — mostly those with kekkei genkai — had no choice but to sleep outside the village. The higher castes of clans had shunned those who used their highly-coveted abilities for cheap entertainment and, in rare cases, outright excommunicated entire households. This was the case for Koga, a member of the Kaguya clan by blood.
When she became old enough to enroll in the academy, Koga was encouraged to take some time off from the road. For her parents, now growing weathered and weary of the constant toll their profession took on their bodies, this was an opportunity for Koga to right any perceived wrongs, make a name for herself the distinguished way, and perhaps get back in the good graces of their clan. For Koga, however, this was just a new audience. Clowning became acting out, crowd members became classmates and teachers, and acrobatics became survival. By the time that bell rang in the graduation arena, Koga felt she was ready for her greatest performance yet.
Immediately, she began to clown around. Doing juggling acts with lit paper bombs, swallowing senbon, balancing upside down on the ring of a kunai stuck in the ground, anything she thought would be entertaining to her, her opponents, and the crowd of proctors watching from above. This surely drew attention from the others in the arena, but not in the way Koga would've liked. Many stopped their pursuit of other targets to turn their sights on the innocent clown, who could only grin that big, gummy smile of hers at her attackers. Even when forced to start fighting, Koga was still clowning. Less bomb juggling, more bomb lobbing. At the end of senbon swallowing and kunai balancing acts, began the senbon spitting and kunai slashing repertoire. Her fledgling understanding of wind release even came in handy, if only briefly, as she found herself face to face with the last man standing.
The pair stood amongst the bodies, exhaustion setting in, sharing a brief moment of silence. "Brief," of course, was the operative word, as Koga suddenly began jingling and shaking the bells that accented her clothing. She spun around, danced and shimmied, mumbled a song to herself. Her opponent cursed, called her names, and finally rushed in to put an end to her ceaseless antics. What he didn't anticipate, however, was the auditory genjutsu she had put him under merely by doing what she'd always done: act the fool. Her kunai pierced the space between his ribs, all the while the boy's mind flooded with endorphins and stimuli.
Having surpassed all odds and began life as a genin, Koga's antics only grew more creative. She learned to use her affinity for wind release to vibrate the air around her, make sounds from stationary objects, and concocted increasingly bizarre and maddeningly overstimulating illusions to come from them. She practiced her acrobatics, honed her range of dexterity, and even learned how to contort her body into strange shapes. After five odd years, she was promoted to the rank of Chunin.
